Activities

Throughout the week we have a number of children's clubs and activities, as well as a bi-annual holiday club during the Summer Holidays. We also have a wide variety of other activities for all ages, which help and support the main body of the church, encouraging spiritual growth and fellowship. Many of these weekly sessions and one-off events are particularly designed for outreach into the local community. Click the buttons above to see what we get up to!

Services

Sunday Morning Service is at 10.30am

Our Sunday morning service is prepared for all ages; children and teenagers start together with the adults and are then specially catered for in their own groups. From time to time we also have family services, where all ages stay together throughout the service. We use a variety of modern and traditional music.

Sunday Evening Service is at 6.30pm

Our Sunday evening service is more intimate and reflective, except when we focus on the work of a Christian Mission.

Communion

Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday evening and the third Sunday morning of each month.

Behind the Scenes

As in any church, Barton relies on a lot of people working very hard behind the scenes doing menial and not such menial jobs to keep everything running smoothly and looking its best. Most of the time it is great fun, but if there are only a few people to do everything all year round, it can become a chore. The more people who can help out, the less often they have to do it, and the more each person can approach their tasks joyfully as part of their service to God.

If you are planning on joining us, or if you have been attending for years and never quite got around to doing anything, why not volunteer to help out in some capacity? Most of these jobs and activities are now planned on a rota, so that people only need help once a month or less. Use the Contact us form to express your interest, or ask at the church for the appropriate organiser to speak to - they will be delighted to hear from you!
